Some repairs just aren't worth doing. When a staircase has deteriorated to the point where patching is only going to buy you a few more months, the right call is to tear it out and start fresh. That's exactly where this job started.

The original concrete steps were worn, crumbling, and no longer safe to rely on. You could see the deterioration throughout the whole structure - this wasn't a surface problem. We brought in a Hercules demolition breaker to break out the old concrete and clear the way for a proper rebuild. No shortcuts, no cover-ups.

Once the old material was out, we framed everything up with pressure-treated lumber - building the form structure that would shape the new concrete steps. Getting the framing right at this stage is what determines whether the finished stairs are level, consistent, and built to hold up long-term. It's not glamorous work, but it's where the job is really won or lost.

After the concrete was poured and cured, new wood railings were installed on both sides of the staircase. The finished entry is clean, solid, and safe - exactly what a front staircase should be. This is the kind of repair work that actually solves the problem instead of just delaying it.

If your front steps are starting to crack, sink, or feel unstable underfoot, don't wait until someone gets hurt. A full rebuild like this addresses the real issue and gives you an entry that's built to last.
